Mixing Maca with oatmeal is common in Peru, and Quaker even sells a pre-mixed bag of Maca Avena for children.
- 3/4 cup oats
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 mashed banana
- 1 tsp chia seeds
- 1 tsp flaxseeds
- Vanilla extract (optional, to taste)
- 1 tsp Maca powder
- Goji berries (optional) or your favorite toppings
First bring the water and milk to a boil, then add the oats and turn the heat down. Let the oatmeal simmer for about 5-7 minutes until your desired consistency and stir it every now and then.
Add the chia seeds, flaxseeds and mashed banana half way through cooking. At the end, stir in the Maca powder and mix in the goji berries. Stir it for another half a minute or so until well mixed in, put it in your favorite bowl, put on the toppings and enjoy it.
